Nico Sanchez or OG Neeks (formerly known as KLEFTO) founded Black Noise Records in 2016 during his junior year of college. The label was created out of necessity; as Nico felt there was a strong group of beatmakers in his area of residence but no sense of community to bring them together.

Nico has been producing beats since the age of 16, and his music is self described as “Hard hitting boom bap with a modern twist”. His inspirations include (but are not limited to): Sun Ra, Quincy Jones, Rick Rubin, Ohbliv, Knx, Swarvy, Ahwlee, everyone on the Black Noise roster, and many more.

Nico is currently staying active running the flagship store and is working on a full length release with Estimate, which is expected to drop later this year.
